would it be possible for us to use the entire camp for a family reunion sometime? we would need accomodations for around 200 people. and are all the meals provided in the price of 25$/person and 100$/family? what about if we only wanted meals provided and all the rest we wanted to plan ourselves? this is what we usually do when we get together for a reunion. we are a very large Mennonite family and only get together about once in 3-6 years. we would like to plan this next reunion for summer of 2013 or 14. thanks for taking the time to answer these questions.

Carol,
Thank you for your interest in our Region's fall retreat for senior adults.

The deadline to receive registrations for this retreat is Friday, September 2. Information, registration forms, etc. will be posted to this website soon, as well as mailed directly to Disciples congregations in our Region.

This year our focus will be on "Renew Your Mind" through life-long learning. Our keynote sessions will share information and conversation around a wide variety of areas - from the physicality of aging and learning, to spiritual practices, and technology as a social and spiritual tool.

The retreat begins on Sunday evening, Sept 11, with check-in happening right before dinner. The retreat ends on Tuesday, Sept 13, early afternoon. Over the course of the retreat, we will have 4 large group sessions with speakers on topics related to the retreat theme (each lasting about an hour). In addition, there will be two breakout session with several learning/experience options to choose from (e.g., a craft, tour of the Conference Center Grounds, etc), a service project opportunity will be available, as well as time spent together in worship, and fellowship. FYI - We received such positive feedback on last year's schedule that we've used it for planning this year as well. The feedback indicated satisfaction with the amount of time for rest and relaxation, time for fellowship, time for worship, and time for learning.

Here's a little information about the Conference Center and its facilities, too... The Conference Center has a variety of housing options - for this retreat we will use the Lodge and, if registrations warrant it, the Guest House. Both of those facilities are designed to be more of a hotel or home atmosphere. They are fully heated/air conditioned. Linens are provided for your use. They are handicap accessible, with 1 or 2 of them including handicap bathrooms. All your meals will be included in your registration - and are provided in the dining hall in the Lodge (Sunday dinner through Tuesday lunch). The Lodge also has the conference room and any meeting rooms we might need. Plus, a newly enclosed back porch providing a beautiful view of the grounds; walking trails, etc.

I hope this information is helpful in making your decision whether or not to attend. If there is any other information I can provide, please don't hesitate to ask.

I hope to see you in Newton in September.

I am told that today (Apr. 29) is the last day to register and I don't see any information about this event, whether I want to participate or not. Is is possible to register at a later date when we find out what it is all about?

Thanks
